RESEARCH - Convention of a film opening

In a Thriller Films opening, the music, sound effects, pace usually sets the mood of the movie and genre by using these features.
An example of this use is when a movie uses eerie music in the opening which builds up the tension, thus making the audience want to watch the film even more, since they want to know what is awaiting them ahead.
Also the pace makes the audience understand what type of movie it is gonna be , fast being action packed and frantic, slow being high tension and eerie.
Also the sound effects use, emphasise mood and atmosphere created through the opening making it more eerie or fast paced.

Furthermore the Thrillers openings use can be used to introduce the characters in the plot, teasers, location and providing a hook for the Thriller.
